Speck is 9 today. Actually, right about now. He was born @ 3:32 pm. How fast time flies. He had a few buddies over last night and happy to report no major injuries or events. Whew! (not even a new shower story!!) We did have a little dissapointment when the "bear meat" actually turned out to be chicken. And a slight scare that resulted in a wet bathroom wall, some neglected teeth because someone packed an unfamiliar toothbrush that was "probably, like my dads when he was 32, or something"...otherwise just a fun filled evening.

not sure what these two were up to

she doesn't like to ride and apparently doesn't want anyone else to either

who knew kiddie toys were still so much fun?! (I guess when you add guns to the mix, anything can be entertaining)

loading up on nerf bullets

I think this one would be good in a high school yearbook :)

can I carry that ball glove and ride at the same time?

a great group of boys

a silly string fight

was just too much fun...but sis and I were off limits!

then on to the water balloons & we were REALLY off limits

they couldn't wait to pound each other. these were the last of the balloons (see TG just waiting for me to say "go")

a few managed to stay dry

and a few managed to get soaked

but I think they had a lot of fun

love the look on EW's face!

close range, a couple of them had some red marks, ouch!

the two little E's played catch

ready & waiting

the big boys rode bikes

& scooters

& ripsticks

they had their own game of baseball going. the coaching was um, interesting!

pizza & cookie cake was a hit. They all made it through the night. But didn't go to bed til about 2 am & were up @ 6. O well, thats what a sleep over is for, right? Looked out the window this morning and saw them playing baseball again, on the drive, just like they were told, but they were batting into the garage, & it was open & my car was parked inside. I shut the door & told hubby to stay in the house ;)

We took the boys to VB to ride the train this afternoon. It was the Old Timers Day Festival ( did not know that before we planned the train excursion) People looked at us like we were NUTS walking through there with 9 boys. One lady asked if they were all there with us and then if they were all mine. When we walked past she shook her head and said "Oh my word"

loaded & ready to go . while we were waiting we had discussions about girlfriends. seems several of the boys have had the same girlfriend. and one has been "dating" for quite some time now. Don't think I am ready for all that just yet!

It wasn't exactly what we thought it was going to be. But a different experience anyway. Hopefully it was more fun than not. & afterward we had lunch at La Huerta. Thanks to such a wonderful group of friends who helped him celebrate. Happy Birthday to my sweet 9 year old little boy.

ReplyDeleteIt looks like you all had a great time. I think it is no neat the bond all the boys have.
ReplyDeleteFunny, when Clayton and Ethan went to the basketball game with us a few months ago, they talked a lot about girlfriends. It was comical.
