The great state of Texas

We spent spring break in Texas. But before we left...
Sis got a haircut. She looks so big now :( We stopped in Dallas and spent the night. The pool was indoors and supposedly heated. I think the heater was broken. But they didn't care. Little man wouldn't be still long enough for me to catch him!
We went to San Antonio and the Riverwalk. Love this place! and Sis was pretty good. I wasn't too sure about taking a 2 year old but it worked out fine.
The pics were loaded out of order but we stopped at the Dallas zoo on Monday while we waited on my brother to fly in from San Francisco. They have this really neat new giraffe exhibit. you can feed them lettuce and pet them. The boys loved it. Little man was a little timid and about the time I snapped this that giraffe licked him right up the side of his face! He ran as fast as his little feet would carry him. It was hilarious. My mom and I laughed til we hurt. Not nice, I know, but it was SOOOOO funny just because not much bothers him.
We also went to Sea World in San Antonio and they got to swim with the beluga whales. The water was 28'. WAY too cold for me!
This was Oliver. He is 4 years old. Little man loved him.
Speck was a little more shy here. If they were to step off that ledge it was an 18 foot drop.
Sis liked the play area. And LOVED her Uncle Kyle. Couldn't be because he catered to her every wish?!
The boys love him too. He only gets to see them about once a year. This was the 3rd time he had ever seen Sis. We didn't get up and go to the airport Friday morning since he had to go at 5, but mom said he cried and cried. He loves SF but misses his family.
On the way home she was a pill. She got a new Rapunzel beach towel at the Disney store. Its her new favorite thing. She kept it over her head the whole time. She also got a gown and wore it as much as I would let her. I've never seen a 2 year old with such an attraction to PJs! I think we stopped 6 times. Its an 8 hour trip and it took us about 10.5.

Busy day

many, many, many things I need to get done. just not motivated. working SLOWLY on my list. O well. its going to be too pretty outside to stay in so I have a feeling there will be lots left to do since we are going to take full advantage when the kids get home!
I put in a transfer at work. the interview went well. its the aftermath that is so strange. not sure yet whats going on. still just waiting to hear.
the kids and I are going to San Antonio next week for Spring Break. Yea! thats a whole other list :)

Bliss

Hubby is trying to stay in my good graces since turkey season is just around the corner. I got a red velvet cupcake yesterday :)

Sis has decided she doesn't like school. Fun. Her new favorite thing when you are trying to get her to mind is "I just wookin" or "I need do somepin". She is changing everyday. Lately she is attached to her biggest brother. Wanting him to feed her, carry her all the time, put her in her carseat, and take her potty! which she is regressing at the moment because of a new interest in cookie monster who only comes on diapers and not on pull ups. maybe we will have to look for little boys undies!

I should be doing something productive...like sleeping since I am working tonight and I am home all alone. Instead I am sitting here. Speaking of work, I put in a transfer. Funny how things don't work out the way you are told sometimes. Hopefully I will get to move soon.

Working on a quick girls trip to see Nicholas Sparks on his new book tour. As hubby so sweetly pointed out, I don't like to read. But I do like his stories. And a girls only road trip would be enough fun for me!

o me, o my

sis has an attitude just a little too big for her 2 year old body :) her & her daddy have had more than one standoff...not sure who is winning. baseball is just about to get underway. so ready for that warm weather again. hubby is around, for now anyway. Turkey season is quickly approaching. I had my hair highlighted. not completely blonde, but pretty light for me. went through the attic today. not sure why. just thought it sounded fun I guess. a trip down memory lane. just proof that HE does have a plan! Garth Brooks song "Unanswered Prayers" kept running through my head.

Date night

sis helped herself to my mascara while I was getting ready.

it was a family date night.

since dad was home we went out to dinner & a movie. not that I'm a movie critic or anything but just a warning...don't waste your time or $ going to see Rango. a lot of the dialogue was way over the kids head, it said lots of words that are not allowed around here (h***, b****,d***) just a few examples, and it had several very adult (sexual) situations. in one scene one character says to another "look in my eyes...I want to see you die". the theater was packed with kids. the only good thing about it was the animation. we left before it was even over. hubby & I both agreed it was the worst movie we had seen in a long time.

second man down

little man has fever. cough. achy ears. :( nothing too bad, 100.6 so technically not even really a fever. but enough to make him want to come in and lay down. I got in trouble for being quite late picking them up this afternoon. they greeted me with... "what were you thinking" ?! SW & TH joined me for a quick trip up the mountain. and we did absolutely no damage to anybody's bank account. a stroll through the mall, where sis tried very hard to strip down while waiting on something to drink, lunch, French Quarter antiques, Riffraff, and my personal favorite, Bliss Cupcake Cafe. the red velvet is going to be a necessity everytime I go!!
the "terrible twos" are knocking at our door...VERY LOUDLY the last few days. she took something from her brother this afternoon & hid it. he was trying to convince her to give it back and asked where it was (probably not very nice) & she replied "I can't know"! her new favorite thing is taunting the boys..."bubba is a baby, bubba is a baby". what a little toot.

its not a lot to look at. its better in person. very calm and soothing and super comfy. I love the drapes. still needs a little something but I really like it. and hubby is going to have to because I threw away the receipt and packaging :) speaking of him, he is still "roughing it" (HA!) so far he has killed roughly 1,200 birds. still 1 1/2 days left to hunt before he starts the trip home. hope it goes better than his trip there.
