Good Grief

I tried to upload several pics. Maybe thats the problem. Too many. Whatever the case is, I really don't want to sit here and mess with it. So, its another post without any.

Baseball has started. Little man's team lost both of their games in the preseason tournament. But he did a good job playing second, third and pitcher. First year pitching machine is always such a challenge.

Speck's team didn't play any  preseason games. They jumped right in. They didn't win either but it was a good game. He's playing second base and did a great job. He stopped 4 ground balls and threw each one out at first. Not too bad considering he's the youngest one on the team. Most of them are 12 and 13. He's not even 11 yet! (at lest for a few more days :)

Sis decided dance wasn't her thing. I think it was more the idea that I had to leave her. She talks about it all week but when it comes down to time to go she cries. So, one less activity for now. But she has her heart set on t ball next year. How is that possible?!

We are spending a lot of time outside these days. I'm thinking its not going to last too long because this summer is going to be HOT. They love to ride their bikes so we have been going on a walk everyday. Today we went 5 miles. They were ready for bed!

And the warmer weather brings one of my least favorite things with it...snakes. We found a copperhead in our garage, at the back door this morning on the way to school. Great.

Its the last weekend of turkey season so of course hubby is gone. And I won't sleep. One of these days I might get used to it, but 14 years so far and I'm not there yet.

just hangin out

Not much to write about lately. Just keeping up with the kiddos. Both boys playing baseball and sis started dance. Hubby is traveling again so it's just us a lot of the time.

My latest "fun highlight..." We had some AMAZING pics taken last week by my very talented friend SW!!! Always love them, even when my kids don't want to cooperate she is able to get several great shots. When she posted a preview I turned my FB account back on so I could see them. As of right now its still "there" but I have really enjoyed my lack of technology lately so we will see...

Sis fussed at her daddy while he mowed the yard Friday. We took naps on Sat, had a last minute cookout with some friends, & then we went to the dino exhibit yesterday. Nothing too extraordinary.

I got a text last night that a friend of mine from high school lost her dad yesterday, very unexpectedly. She & her 3 girls were REALLY close to him. Praying for them as they go through this awful loss.

timing is everything...and not ours to choose

we got a phone call to show the house a second time today. in about an hour another one saying they had changed their minds and ruled ours out. it is "too dark, too warm, too damp, and didn't smell fresh enough". at first I was mad. partly because I was supposed to work tonight and was trying to sleep but couldn't since this was going on, and partly because I was insulted. first of all, every single light was on and every single blind was open. how much more light do you need? Second, do they realize it was 90 on April 1? I doubt they want to pay a $400 electric bill. And I feel sure part of the temp inside was due to the WET CARPET that we warned them about. I am positive it was the reason for the damp, unfresh smell too! O well. I fumed for a bit then realized its just not our time. we aren't supposed to move just yet. we need to sit back, relax and enjoy everyday we get watching our kiddos run & play, here, in our home.

stress level

Mine is rising as I type this. Our carpets were in desperate need of cleaning or being taken up. I voted for the second option, however hubby did not agree. So I scheduled a carpet cleaning appointment. While we were moving all the furniture yesterday hubby joked that they were probably going to call and want to show the house. Well, of course, he was right! There is a couple in from out of state that wants to look at it tonight @ 5:30. Their plan is to see 8 houses today, go back to the top choices tomorrow and make an offer before they go back on Wed. Geez!! According to the carpet guy it needs to dry 4 hours before we get on it. He thought we lived on the other side of "the city" and ended up in another town. Luckily he called on his way just to make sure and we figured it out so he was only 30 minutes late. Now the furniture that took all day and a friend of hubby's to help move is going to go back in ASAP per me and one of my friends ;) nothing like a little hustle on a Monday!
