"wascally wabbit"

OK, so last night I was making mashed potatoes for Speck & sis while hubby mowed the yard. All of a sudden he is beating on the back door. I thought something happened so I ran to open it. He is standing there with a blue bucket over my head saying "look what I found". My first thought was a snake so I ran. He sat it on the floor and there was a tiny baby bunny. He found it in the yard and picked it up. The bunny was squealing & sis did not like that a bit. Much to my dismay they fixed him up a little home in a box & put it in the laundry room. When Speck got up this morning the first thing he went to do was check on the rabbit. (Something I hadn't even thought about) He says "mom, wheres the rabbit"? I just figured hubby let him go this morning or maybe he didn't make it through the night. About an hour later he called so I asked. & he said "he was in the box when I left for work". Hmmm...the laundry room door to the house was open & the box was empty so that means I have a cotton tail baby loose in my house somwhere! We have looked in, under, on, behind, and through everything we can take apart. No luck. Not looking forward to finding him, especially if it takes a few days :(

like a champ!

dad getting him "suited up" we decided he may not be the best gown tier
just passing the time while we waited for what seemed like forever!

liquid versed doesn't taste too good

but it sure does the trick. everybody had 4 eyes and Nanaw was sitting in a cave & he was picking at all kinds of stuff floating in the air!

waking up was a little rough but he did GREAT.

7 up from the hospital was ok

but dad did better...a chocolate shake. He had ice cream, a popsicle, applesauce & mac & cheese before bed. Slept from 10-3 then needed Tylenol & back to sleep til 8. Cream of wheat for breakfast and a nap this afternoon. He has been up building legos (thanks sweet friends) & even ventured outside for a minute. Now he is patiently waiting for me to finish with the computer so he can have a turn. He is doing so good, I would have never thought it would be like this! Little man made it off to Grandma's this morning and even though he didn't want to call me she did. They have a list of 18 things he wants to do before he comes home!

I have an idea

I had a bunch of ivy & glass bottles but removed them per suggestion of HG (so glad I asked her for her opinion) then replaced them with big framed pics of the kiddos on easels.
REALLY like the way they turned out!

This wall is one that can expand. My new order (minus one that hasn't arrived yet) and already would love to add more!

These were over the loveseat but have moved to the nook at the front door to "replace" a collagae of just the boys that has been relocated to my room. I just can't stand it when they out number sis. I realize they have been around a lot longer but it gives me a reason to take lots of pics!

This wall just got re framed & rearranged. But I'm really happy with it too.

The full view of the living room . With both windows done now its growing on me. I am thinking I am going to add hardware to all the cabinets. Hubby isn't too fond of the idea, but he will be. I think I counted 96 cabinets & drawers :)

Starving ball player waiting on dinner

so sleepy he just couldn't stay awake! They won last night so we play again tonight. Don't want them to lose but he is supposed to be going to grandma's in LR Thu b/c of Specks surgery (just to keep him out of trouble) but if they win again he can't go. What to do?!

Do you know what this is?! Dug it out from under my bed. notice all the dust bunnies? After all it has been there for 12 years! I have an idea...

yes, no maybe?

Ok, almost done, a few more changes & I will be there. Its driving hubby CRAZY but all he says is "I can't believe you're doing this now". I'll explain more on that later!
drapes in the office...really like these. You have to see them for real to get the complete picture. They go so well with all hubby's animals. If I could get rid of them I would but unfortunately I think they have to stay. TH you did good!
drapes in the dining room. These are good too. Picture doesn't reallly do them justice.

Living room...I think I like them, have gotten good comments, but not completely attached. we'll see.

Sisters room. Hmmm...maybe. pink hasn't ever been my color. definately not attached in here, but ok. TH you may not have to travel too far if you're wanting some for your house ;)

Sisters new toy box. LOVE it. having a dresser painted as we speak. can't wait!
Its only Monday and I have already had more stress than I handle very well. (& surgery isn't til Wed!) Got a phone call over the weekend about a nursing position that was open & they were wondering if I was interested. First reaction was NO, but thanks. After talking it over with hubby it was more like, maybe...lets keep thinking about it. only problem is, a decision needs to be made QUICK. It is full time days so I would have to leave Sis. BIG hang up for me. But would be home by 3:30, no weekends or holidays or summers. Had a call about 2 weeks ago about a different position that I was seriously considering but still hadn't decided. That one was at the hospital on night shift so no babysitter. But I would be missing anything the boys did of an evening. And have to work every other weekend and a few holidays. I have been thinking about going back to work for a while, and with the whole school thing had been really thinking about it lately. I have worked both positions before. Really liked one and not so much for the other. I think I got advice from every nurse I know and as many of my friends that would answer their phones last night. Hubby has an opinion but isn't being too vocal. I thought I had my mind made up but changed it several times. I have been doing a bible study and when I picked it up last night it seemed as if it was written just for me. I actually got some sleep, instead of waking up worrying and wondering. Made a visit this morning to someone who had one little comment and changed my mind for me without even knowing. (don't get me wrong, neither job is guaranteed but just taking the chance that I could end up at either place was more than I could handle) A dear friend said "When I can't make a definate decision...I don't" & I didn't have to. It was amazing at the relief I felt after my reading last night & my visit this morning. I don't make big decisions well, anything that is going to affect anyone other than me, I panic. Still not sure where I'll end up, if anywhere, but it won't be at either one of the places I was asked about, not now anyway.
opinions/comments would be greatly appreciated on both the house & the job!

another week gone?

Seriously, time is FLYING! No baseball this week thanks to the rain but not sure if its a good thing or not. Speck gets his tonsils out Wednesday so we will only get to participate Mon & Tue. Ran up the hill yesterday & got some cute, cute fabric for drapes in the office. Will post pics next week when I get it all together. Been moving things around, things I'm not supposed to touch, like hubbys prized antelope. Got a text last night from him as I had it in my hands, I swear you would think he had hidden cameras in here! Scared a few kiddos to death about 12 am as they came around the corner and I was standing on the kitchen cabinets rearranging... again! Whats worse, they were still up or I was still working on it in the middle of the night?!

18 months

today my baby is a year and a half old. tomorrow she will be closer to 2 than 1 :( Where has it gone?! She is talking 90 miles an hour & we can only understand a word here and there. Sadly we probably don't really want to know..I'm sure it is something that would get her in trouble because she sounds like she is getting on to the boys!
We had a fairly relaxing 4th. didn't come home til today...then back to the rush rush of things. Only to have it rescheduled because of the rain. O well.
I mentioned before that I am rearranging things around here. Its getting there but still working on it. Think I'm on a first name basis with the ladies at Hobby Lobby. Gonna venture up the hill later this week...maybe they have something different.
Mixed emotions with the fact summer is 1/2 over. maybe we'll slow down a bit if we get back on a schedule & still don't feel like we've done much but they cannot be nice to each other to save their lives. Its like WW 3 around here. Today it was pointed out that I am the meanest mother ever. on the whole entire planet. and thats all I want to do is be mean. all the time. Hmmm...glad to know I achieved the goal I set for the summer ;)

reverse psychology

At least I'm not getting left out. Everybody I talk to seems to be enjoying the benefits of multiple children home for the summer...FIGHTING NON STOP! So far I haven't found anything that works, until this morning. They were at it while they were eating breakfast & I said " I am so glad you guys are fighting. Its great that you don't mind me and aren't being nice. I love it" Needless to say it got silent, fast. And when I turned around little man gave Speck a hug and he put both of their dishes in the sink. Then off to brush their teeth & get dressed without another argument. Hmmm...we'll see how long it lasts but at least I got a few moments of peace :)
In their defense I have drug them around this week a lot. I am rearranging things, getting new pictures of the kiddos and adding some color here and there. I tend to buy stuff & bring it home & take it back. Usually several times before I find what I like, so we've visited a few of the same stores more than once this week! I have also been cleaning out stuff & came across a few old pictures that I thought I would share.

our engagement pictures. July 1998.
Speck's one year pictures

Look at these baby faces! Can you believe they are 9 now?!
